Heralds of Yonder Skies

Heralds of Yonder Skies is a racing/breeding game where you care for and support wild gryphon populations while they help run messages across a fractured world.

Design Goals:

I began this project because I love racing games, but don't have any particular love of cars or karts.  I love the feeling of being locked into a racing experience, intensely focused and feeling a touch of desperation to just make it in time. This is the feeling I want to evoke. 

In addition, I've always loved pet games and genetics are fascinating. What better way to combine these two than breeding gryphons to run messages. I want this game to feel hopeful, but desperate. The world is falling apart and you're too small to stop it. But you CAN do this. You can look after these animals, you can get their help to keep your adopted community connected and informed. 

Key features may change and evolve, but the above principles are my guiding stars for design. I like to call it Balto, by way of Starfox.

Planned Features:

• Race through varied and changing locations
• Plan your route to take advantage of weather conditions and your gryphons' capabilities
• Breed gryphons for different styles of flight
• Integrate with wild populations to add fresh and unique genetics to your flock
• Raise your animals alongside a remote community and learn to live in harmony
